This video will teach you introductory level Savoy-style Lindy Hop, the original style of swing which later was called Jitterbug. Frankie Manning and Erin Stevens will teach you the basic rhythms, footwork, styling, plus six basic moves of the Lindy Hop.

   The Savoy Club, in Harlem, was home base for the Lindy Hop during the Swing Era. The Savoy was the place to see and be seen - a place where partner dance thrived, jazz music flourished, and blacks and whites danced together. Frankie Manning, who turned eighty in 1994, was one of the lead dancers in a performance group based at the Savoy, Whitey's Lindy Hoppers.
